Seminar on "Flow of The Delta: Mastering the Waters, Nourishing the Land — Resilience in the Delta's Ebb and Flow"
IAAS Bangladesh IUBAT at University Premises successfully organized a seminar titled "Flow of The Delta: Mastering the Waters, Nourishing the Land – Resilience in the Delta's Ebb and Flow." The event drew participation from over 130 students and faculty members, creating a vibrant and insightful atmosphere focused on sustainable water management in delta regions.
The seminar began with a one-minute silence in remembrance of the late Prof. Dr. M. Alimullah Miyan and the late Professor Mahmuda Khanum, followed by the National Anthem and recitations from the Quran and the Geeta. A cultural segment titled “Six Seasons of IUBAT” added a unique touch to the program.
Prof. Dr. Abdul Karim, Professor of the College of Agricultural Sciences, delivered the welcome speech. A featured presentation on "Drought Conditions of the Delta Region and Water Management for Agricultural Production" was delivered by Dr. A.J.M. Sirajul Karim, Chair and Professor of the College of Agricultural Sciences.
The keynote address was presented by Mr. David Mornout, former National Director of IAAS Netherlands and Program Manager of Water & Land Management at MetaMeta. His speech focused on sustainable water management across the entire delta region.
The seminar highlighted the importance of integrated water strategies for agricultural resilience and offered valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities in delta water management.
